Jennifer Boca is the Head of Responsible Investment at Lekela Power, a pan-African renewable energy platform developing utility scale wind and solar projects. Jennifer joined Lekela in 2015 and has over 15years’ experience in environmental and social performance management, ESG risk management and running of social impact programs with a particular focus on large scale infrastructure projects and the development financing sector in Africa. Jennifer has worked in several countries in Africa, Europe and Asia.
At Lekela, Jennifer has oversight on ESG performance for a portfolio of projects in South Africa, Senegal, Ghana and Egypt working closely with contractors, asset managers and Company Management to ensure that all Lekela projects are delivered to the highest environmental, social and governance standards. Prior to joining Lekela, Jennifer was the Managing Director at JBoca Associates, an independent advisory firm undertaking environmental and social due diligence and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs)for infrastructure projects in Africa. Prior to that, she spent 10 years working as a Senior Environmental and Social Consultant for various international engineering firms in the UK including Scott Wilson and URS Corporation. Jennifer has worked on major infrastructure projects in various sectors including power, waste management, roads, railways, pipelines and the mining sector.
Jennifer is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Impact Assessment and Management from Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK.
